Our roots go back to leading the national research and market analysis department for Albertsons, where we supported market strategy, growth planning, and M&A efforts for a company operating more than 4,500 food and drug stores. That experience gave us a deep understanding of what it takes to grow profitably in a competitive, ever-changing landscape.

Danielle Yanskey is a nationally recognized leader in grocery site analysis and market planning with over 30 years of experience helping companies make smarter location and investment decisions. As National Director of Research and Market Analysis at Albertsons, then the nation’s second-largest food and drug retailer, she led research initiatives and advised senior leadership on customer analytics, store expansion and acquisitions.
Since co-founding ROIC analytics in 2008, Danielle has worked with countless grocery brands — from national chains to regional powerhouses, emerging concepts, cooperatives, and municipalities — delivering data-driven strategies that drive growth and improve returns. Today, she remains deeply engaged in helping clients make confident site and market decisions that maximize their return on invested capital. ![]()
Tom Kessler
Managing Partner / Analyst / Developer
With over 25 years of experience in grocery and retail analytics, Tom Kessler is the innovative and technical lead at ROIC analytics. Since co-founding the company in 2008, he has designed and developed its core analytic infrastructure and leads product strategy for its software venture, SiteSeer.
Tom began his career in data and analytics at the U.S. Census Bureau and Navteq (Here), but it was at Albertsons — where he pioneered customer analytics, built predictive models, and helped transform the national food and drug retailer into a data-driven organization — that he honed his expertise in location analytics. Today, in addition to continually advancing ROIC’s capabilities, Tom enjoys working directly with clients to solve complex challenges in a fast-changing retail landscape. ![]()
